The space I use my stand in has somewhat limited access by design. We have two mid-sized dogs, so having a guitar stand out of the way is a must.
That said, getting the guitar into the basic position to put onto the stand is easy enough, but it feels like a balancing act to get the guitar leaned back into the proper position. Not doing so allows for some tilting to the sides. The cheapest guitar that will hit that stand is still over $3k.
I do need to put some protective material on the inside of the upright wooden frame. That part that connects the front of the bottom to the top of the rack. one little slight of wrist or miss-calculation of the balancing act and I'm lightly knocking my wood guitar onto bare wood. Never a good sound.
Ultimately, this is a good, relatively low cost solution and will fit the need. I'd be disappointed in some of the "basicness" of design if it was a much more expensive product, but it isn't, and it looks pretty nice overall.
I do have to watch where it's leaning in relation to the neck cutout at the top of the rack. I've caught the strings at least twice.
Yes, I would recommend to a friend, but I would describe the little idiosyncrasies or nuances I've stumbled upon thus far.
(fwiw, I've only tried my super jumbo on it. One of my 'dreads goes there next week. One of my Les Pauls is in place in the end position and so far so good.)
This is a well crafted and utilitarian stand. The materials are of quality and it looks and functions well. My three guitars cradle comfortably and it adds to both the presence of the room and the instruments. Quite pleased!
Excellent quality and well built. Great design!
